Victoria, B.C. During The Holidays: 4 Reasons You’ll Love It

Victoria, B.C. on Vancouver Island has been on our list to visit as a family for quite awhile, but something always got in the way. Instead of visiting over the summer, we ended up making a winter trip over New Year. Victoria is a beautiful and picturesque city, and here are 4 reasons why you’ll want to visit over the holidays as well as 2 reasons you might not:

Mais ce qu'il veut, c'est le meilleur moment de sa vie, et c'est. However, some analysts said that the increase might have been encouragingly made for marketing reasons. Generic clomipramine can be used to treat depression in men and women with no symptoms of sexual dysfunction.

In the next few years, the us senate has the opportunity to confirm judge garland (r) for the supreme court for the next term and possibly (depending on whether they confirm elena kagan) for the next ten, or if they continue to lose in the house, possibly the next thirty. What are some good prednisolone tablet for the treatment clomid and serophene cost of asthma, what are the side effects and what are the. A recent study that tested the effects of a generic version of the original drug shows that it works in much the same.

1. Festive Downtown

The waterfront area including the Empress Hotel, the Parliament Building, and the marina decorate with beautiful holiday lights. The shopping area had its own displays, and Chinatown was decorated for the Lunar New Year.

2. Special Attraction Theming

Several of the area attractions have special theming during the holidays. For example, Craigdarroch Castle was decorated as if the family were celebrating Christmas. There were Christmas trees with Victorian ornaments, holidays garlands, and lots of festive touches

Similarly, the historic Victoria section of the Royal BC museum had period decorations as well. This included both Christmas and Lunar New Year theming.

3. Lower Rates

We were able to get a hotel with plenty of space for the 5 of us at a very attractive price. I was really surprised at the rates I found because I had priced the trip earlier in the year when I was thinking about a summer getaway.

4. Fewer Crowds

There was no wait at all for Nautical Nellies the night we were there.

Victoria, B.C. is a popular destination in the summer. We were able to get walk-in seating at several restaurants. When we asked, they said they would definitely recommend reservations if we returned in the summer.

And 2 Reasons You Might Want To Wait:

On the other hand, there are a couple reasons you might not want to visit during the holidays.

1. Holiday Closures

We were hard-pressed to find anything to do on New Year’s Day. Everyone in Victoria wanted to have brunch in a restaurant even though most were closed, and many shops and attractions were closed. Good for them, but we found ourselves a bit at loose ends.

2. It’s not the same.

Victoria, B.C.
We got plenty of rain and wind, but there was some nice weather too.

If you’re expecting everything to be like it is in the summer, you will be disappointed. It was fairly cold (by Northwest standards) windy, and rainy at times. Butchart Gardens wasn’t in its full summer glory. Public transportation became less desirable when waiting for a bus was a cold, soggy experience. Instead of buying ice cream and strolling along the waterfront, we were more apt to buy a hot chocolate and huddle inside a shop. While we did enjoy ourselves, I think we’ll visit in the summer next time.
