Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff On Pixar Pier.

The character of Bing Bong in Pixar’s Inside Out is part cat, part elephant, and part dolphin, with a body made mostly of cotton candy.  It’s fitting then that his shop, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, should also have a mix of elements.  It’s part candy store, part soda fountain, and part souvenir shop.

The Merch

stuffed toy at Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff, Pixar Pier

Bing Bong’s carries a variety of t-shirts, stufties, and toys.  This is the place to get a stuffed Anger doll or a Joy t-shirt.  While a lot of the merchandise is themed to Inside Out, many other Pixar movies are represented such as Up, Monsters Inc., and Coco.  Because of Bing Bong’s strong rainbow theming, it’s also the place to find rainbow Mickey ears.

The Candy

If you want candy on the pier, Bing Bong’s is the place to go.  Their candy counter rivals the ones at the Main Street confectionary, Trolly Treats, and Pooh Corner.  You’ll find some standard treats such as chocolate covered pretzel sticks, but you’ll also find some special treats like the Bing Bong inspired caramel apple or specialty cake pops.  All of these are on the spendy side, but they also generally have some wow factor going on for both the visual appeal and the taste.  We were very happy with the Mickey Krispy Treats and the chocolate and caramel covered pretzel stick rolled in Reese’s pieces.  The Mickey donut cookie got a ho-hum review from our taste tester, but I though it would be better as an accompaniment to coffee than as a stand-alone.

If you don’t find what you want in the candy case, there is a vast quantity of prepackaged candies.  You can get plenty of lollipops and unicorn sticks as well as a variety of hard candies and cookies.

The Memory Refreshers

Some of the most unique offerings at Bing Bong’s are the Memory Refreshers.  These are more or less the fanciest Icees you will ever encounter.  They are a mixture of frozen slushes, soda, and candy.  The Rainbow Unicorn was clearly the most ridiculous one, so of course we had to order it.  Basically, there are multiple, colored layers of frozen slush with a liberal amount of rainbow Nerds.  That’s right—as you suck up your drink, you also get bits of Nerds candies.  This is definitely excessive, kinda weird, but fun and tasty too.  Our tween taste-taster had no qualms about the ridiculousness of the treat and would have downed multiples if we had let him.
