Okay, I know that doing laundry is probably not what you’re dreaming of doing on your Disney Cruise, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. Particularly if you’re hoping to pack light on a longer trip, you should plan on at least one trip to the guest laundry facilities which are adorably called launderettes. The good news is that they’ve made it about as easy as you can imagine so you can be poolside again as soon as possible.

What You Don’t Need
You won’t need any laundry products, and you won’t need any cash. Here’s How It Works
1. Start at the Kiosk. If there are open machines, you are good to go. Purchase E-Tokens (digital credits) using your Key To The World Card. Wash or Dry E-Tokens were $3 each at the time of writing, and product E-Tokens were $1 each.
2. Next, use your Key To The World Card to purchase your laundry products.
3. Proceed to any open washer and throw in your load. Add the detergent, then swipe your card again to use a cycle E-Token to start the load.
4. Now, this is where I was really impressed. When my load was done in the washer, I got a text through the Disney Cruise Line app. In case you are wondering, they appear to give you about two minutes of lead time, so although they say it’s done, you may actually get there right as the cycle is about to end.
5. Move your laundry to the dryer and use another E-Token to dry. You’ll get another text when this cycle is ending.
Additional Information
On the Magic and Wonder guest laundry facilities are located on decks 2,6, and 7. On the Dream and Fantasy they are located on Decks 2,5,6,7,8,9, and 10.
The Disney Cruise Line website states that the hours of operation for guest laundry facilities may vary and advises you to check your Personal Navigator newsletter. I couldn’t find a single mention of the launderette hours anywhere in the Personal Navigators, but the Kiosk in the launderette said that laundry facilities were available 24 hours a day. This could certainly vary by ship.
Pro Tip: If you don’t have a laundry bag, you can use the one provided in your closet for the full-service laundry pickup. Just don’t leave it out like you’re hoping for your laundry to be picked up.
But I Don’t Want To
If you really, really, really can’t see doing any laundry on your Disney Cruise, use the full-service laundry pickup, and head on out the Quiet Cove for a little adult time. It’s your cruise, after all.

For some reason, when I did laundry during this past cruise, I was highly confused when trying to purchase the credits then also when trying to redeem them! Seriously, I’m not usually that dumb but it just wasn’t quite clicking with me. Then it charged me to dry but then said I had to add .25 and there is no way to add .25 so I had to buy another credit and then it worked (thankfully I just told guest services what happened and they gave me the credit back). Be warned – it gets hot in those laundry rooms!!!
It took me a few minutes to figure out the system too, and that dryer issue seems like a glitch they need to work out! It’s not so much the money as the inconvenience when things like that happen. Your goal is usually to spend as little time as possible there. I agree, the laundry rooms get quite toasty, but I kind of like that dryer smell.

Yes, good point. Timing can be key. I like the display they have now that tells you if there are machines available on other floors. The little I’ve seen of the laundry room on the Wish makes me think that they have expanded their self-wash capacity.
