When I head to Disneyland, having some good food is fairly high on the list of things I’m hoping to accomplish. If you go to theme parks much you probably know that the food can be hit or miss. Here I’ve compiled the best food I ate at the Disneyland Resort on my most recent trip in December of 2022.

Potato Skins – Lamplight Lounge $15 I’m not sure why they call these potato skins, because I don’t think there are any skins in it. These are yummy deep-fried potato puffs with some tasty sauces. I think it would be even better with more of the sauces, but these are a solid choice.

Kung Pao Bao – Lamplight Lounge $21 These look like street tacos except that they are in little bao “tortillas.” The crispy pork belly was great although I had one bite that was just kind of a glob of fat. There are also some veggies, peanuts, and sauce. These were flavorful and a bit spicy.

Pork Gyoza – Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar $15 I don’t know that these are actually better than the pork gyoza you could get at any number of places, but I always enjoy them, and I prefer them to the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Wings.

Ronto-less Garden Wrap – Ronto Roasters $13.99 This was a surprise hit with me. The plant-based sausage was really flavorful, and the Kimchi slaw, pickled cucumber, and other veggies were very tasty and made the whole thing moist and crunchy. This is wrapped in a pita like a regular Ronto Wrap, and the pita was very soft and fresh. This was the best counter service food I had while at Disneyland.

Best Sides

Cornbread – Fantasmic Premium Package menu at River Belle Terrace. I don’t know if they offer this at regular meals or not, but the meal for the Fantasmic Premium Package came with a bread basket of cornbread and biscuits with honey butter. I never tried the biscuits because the cornbread was so good.

Best Drinks

Tatooine Sunset – Ronto Roasters $5.99 Some things in Galaxy’s Edge are more weird than good, but this came through for an interesting non-alcoholic option. This is just iced tea, lemonade, and some fruit juice. It doesn’t look fancy in any way, but it was sure tasty.

Scream Canister – Lamplight Lounge $17.25 This is mainly rum, coconut, and tropical juices which is everything I want in a cocktail. Add in the fantastic view at Lamplight Lounge, and you have a real winner.

Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum – Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar This is also rum, coconut, and tropical juices, so it’s no wonder I love it. It’s not quite the same as the Scream Canister, but if you like one, you’ll like the other.

Best Desserts

Plant-based Crème Brûlée – Blue Bayou $10 This was very tasty, and I would not have guessed that it was plant-based except that it wasn’t as heavy as a dessert made with cream. It comes with a little cookie and some berries on top.

Firehouse Dalmatian Mint Sundae – Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor $6.99 Since I used mobile ordering for this, it was easy to switch out one scoop to peppermint and keep one as mint chocolate chip. This is just good quality ice cream done up in a nice sundae, but that pretty much never gets old. Be sure to use mobile ordering to make customization easy and to avoid standing in long lines. Main street was pretty packed, so we wandered into Frontierland to find some benches.

Raspberry-filled Shortbread Cookie – World Of Color Dessert Party – I’ve had several versions of this cookie each time we’ve gone to the World of Color Dessert Party, and I always love it. It’s more sweet and less dense than what I’d call shortbread, but it’s very tasty. It reminds me of the Jack-Jack Shortbread Cooke available from Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums at Pixar Pier.
