The flow is better, and the bed can be nicely curtained off to create a private little nook.

3. Lower Price

You can save a lot of money with an inside stateroom too. For example, on an upcoming European cruise on the Disney Magic, Deluxe Inside Staterooms begin at $4,094 with double occupancy. Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms begin at $4,500. Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms with Verandas begin at $6,110. This price difference is particularly important to us as a family of 5. 4. Location

Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms are primarily located in the center of the ships. This means that they move less when the ship starts to rock. For some people this can really reduce motion-sickness. Other people are willing to take the increased motion of an outside room in order to have a view outside.

5. Magic Portholes

Inside Staterooms on the Dream and Fantasy have Magic Portholes. These give you a realtime view of what’s happening outside the ship. They also provide occasional glimpses of favorite Disney characters or even a pirate ship. Inside Staterooms on the Wonder and Magic do not have this feature. Instead, they have a large, round mirror with an image of a compass etched on it. I really like these, but they’re not as fancy as the Magic Portholes.

6. Light Control

Yes, staterooms with portholes come with good-quality curtains to cover them. However, nothing controls light like a solid wall. If you are in an inside stateroom, then it’s dark when you want it dark. This is great for sleeping-in (particularly in Alaska) and for napping. You can see the ocean all you want from a lounger chair on Deck 4.

7. Peace Of Mind

When my kids were little, I never would have picked a stateroom with a verandah. They were not particularly prone to climbing on railings or doing dangerous things. However, it would have added unnecessary stress to my vacation.
