Last week I shared 7 popular activities I don’t even do on a Disney Cruise. Despite the hype you may see for certain activities like the pools or deck parties, you may actually find your cruising bliss in a completely different place. Here are 8 things I love to do on a Disney Cruise.

1. Watch the world go by

I do a lot of sightseeing from the deck of the ship. Leaving and entering port is always interesting. I also spend time standing at the rail watching the coastline or looking for wildlife. We’ve seen whales, dolphins, seals, bald eagles, and mountain goats from on deck.

2. Eat

Dinner in the main dining rooms is a time-consuming process. There are four courses, and some venues have entertainment as well. It’s one of our favorite things on a cruise because it’s the only thing we always do together. Also, the food is great.

3. Read

I love to find a nice lounge chair on Deck 4 or one of the upper decks and just read. Now, if the kids are swimming and I locate nearby, this sometimes devolves into playing solitaire while I watch a movie on Funnel Vision. At any rate, I have my book/iPad and a lounge chair.

4. Connect

There’s plenty of time on a cruise to just connect with family and friends in our travel party. We get drinks and sit on deck, or the kids take a break to tell me what they’ve been up to.

5. Walk

We spend quite a bit of time walking around deck 4 or the upper decks. The scenery is constantly changing, and there’s always something happening on the ship too. We try to get in a couple miles every day.

6. Laze about in the stateroom

I really like the staterooms on board. I can spend a fair amount of time just watching t.v. or napping. My brother would definitely approve.

7. See a show

We often attend the evening’s main entertainment in the Walt Disney Theater. These are Broadway-type productions with singing and dancing or other variety performances such as comedy, juggling, and magic. Sometimes we watch a movie in the Buena Vista Theater or see a performance in one of the lounges.

8. Take Pictures

I love being on a Disney Cruise, and I just kind of want to take it all home with me. I snap a lot of pictures of things all over the ship as well as in the places we visit.
