V.I.P. Tour At Universal Studios Hollywood

The V.I.P Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood should come with a warning: This tour will ruin you for regular park touring. Because it will. It’s kind of like going on a cruise. After all the special treatment, regular life will be a bit flat.

It was found that tamoxifen is metabolized primarily through cyp2d6, and there are interactions between tamoxifen and other drugs. That's why buy prednisone without prescription we offer a wide range of products from over 30 different companies that are fully compliant and fda approved for use. For a cheaper alternative but with a similar result, see my previous blog post: http://www.allafrica.com/stories/201104290001.html.

Therefore, cholesterol and triglyceride-lowering drugs (also called cholesterol-lowering medicines) are often prescribed to treat and manage high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) or other conditions that affect cholesterol (e.g., cvd). Targadox incent is a prescription drug, therefore it has a lower dosage, and it is generally available clomid and serophene over the counter in the form of a topical cream, If the drug is not taken in time, it can have side effects that could lead to hospitalization.

Booking It

Let’s just say upfront that it’s not going to cheap. $349 per person is the low end. During busier times it can be up to $419. However, that does include your park admission, parking, and lunch. You do want to book ahead of time online, because those prices are $10 cheaper than the what you’ll pay if you buy it at the gate. I found it easy to book online, and when I needed to reschedule about a week ahead, I was able to do that over the phone with no trouble at all.

Getting There

It always takes us longer to get to Universal than I think it will, so let me just suggest that you allow plenty of time. Once you get there, you will need to follow the signs for Valet parking in the Frankenstein parking garage. This is not the most obvious parking garage for people driving to Universal, so make sure you double check the directions they give you ahead of time.

After you park and go through security, you approach the front gates. Veer to the right for the V.I.P. building. You check in, get lanyards, and are told who your tour guide will be. On some days, you are able to take advantage of early entry into the Harry Potter area. We have never done this.

We just try to arrive with enough time to take advantage of the V.I.P. lounge upstairs. There you will find a very nice light breakfast buffet that will have things like pastries, fruit, and mini quiches. You’ll also find coffee, tea, and juice. There’s plenty of seating inside as well as a very nice balcony outside that overlooks the main entry into Universal. It’s usually quite pleasant and shady there.

Your tour guide will find you and get you organized for the tour, along with the other parties in your group. There have usually been 4 or 5 other parties with us.

Backlot Tour

Then you are off. Both of the times we took the V.I.P. tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, we followed the same pattern, though this could vary. We followed our guide through the park and down the elevators until we got to the Universal Backlot Tour. Instead of boarding the open air trams, we were on an air conditioned tour bus with another tour group. If you have an odd number of people in your party, you might want to snag the very back because it seats 5 people across it. The rest of the seating is two people on each side. I am always the person who ends up sitting with a stranger. Always. Of course this person was perfectly pleasant, but I would rather have been with my family.

The V.I.P. version of the Backlot Tour will encompass everything that the normal tour sees–the Bates Motel, the flash flood, Jaws, etc.–and a whole lot more as well. We got out and walked around on the set of The Good Place (which was still in use then) and the set of War Of The Worlds. We also toured one of the backlot streets, a sound stage, and the prop warehouse. There are plenty of photo opportunities, though you can’t take pictures in most of the prop warehouse.

Rides

Leaving the Backlot Tour, we then rode all the rides in the lower section of the park such as The Mummy and Jurassic World. Before each ride, the tour guide stopped to tell us what the ride was like and if there were any height restrictions. You can opt out of any ride, and some of us did. Then the tour guide took us basically up to the front of the line and met us at the exit. Our guides were always fantastic about holding extra bags or whatever while we rode and even provided us with ponchos for the Jurassic World ride. Word to the wise: Don’t let anyone take a photo of you in a clear plastic poncho. Just don’t.

Lunch

After the rides in the lower lot, we took the elevators back up to the upper section and had lunch. This is a nice buffet exclusively for the V.I.P Tour with a lot of different types of food. My kids would tell you that the highlight is the chocolate chip cookies that they have on a warm griddle so that they are always ooey-gooey.

There’s both indoor and outdoor seating at the restaurant. The outdoor seating has great views, but we always want air conditioning at that point. There are characters who come around to interact at each table. My kids thought Dracula was fun, but they didn’t know who Lucille Ball or a few others were. My only warning for the restaurant is that it has fairly limited bathroom facilities. Don’t wait until the last minute.

More Fun!

Both times we did the tour, we saw a show directly after lunch which I think is wise. A lot of rides at Universal are motion simulators, and they can be high on the queasy factor. After lunch we did most of the rides on the upper lot like The Simpsons and Minions rides, and then we headed into Hogsmeade for the Harry Potter attractions.

At that point, it was late afternoon, and our tour was done. However, there was lots more fun to be had. Our V.I.P. lanyards gave us all-day, unlimited, front-of-the-line access for all the rides and shows. Both times we took the tour, we spent the late afternoon enjoying Hogsmeade, ate at the 3 Broomsticks, and then ventured back into the rest of the park for a few more rides and treats.

When we were exhausted from all the fun, we started the trudge back to the car, only to realize that the Frankenstein lot was super close to the exit. The valets had our car to us in minutes and even gave us some bottled water for the ride back to the hotel.

Was It Worth It?

Yeah, it was totally worth it for us, particularly because we only had one day to spend at the park. We did everything we wanted to do as many times as we wanted to do it.

Some friends of mine actually did the V.I.P. thing, but didn’t take the tour. They just headed off with their unlimited passes. It was probably great for them since they had a teen who just wanted to do the wild rides multiple times. However, I don’t think we would want to skip the tour. We enjoyed the lunch, the extra access on the tour, and the ease of being shepherded around by someone who knew what they were doing. If you do decide to go it alone either from the outset or at some point during the tour, just let the tour guide know so they don’t spend time trying to find you.

It’s likely that we’ll do the V.I.P. tour again someday. We did our previous tours three years apart, though I’m guessing it will be a bit longer before the next one.

    • Yep! It’s the Moulin Rouge, and it’s only for people on the tour so it’s never all that busy. Also, I believe the V.I.P. lounge is available during the rest of the day, but we were too busy to check.
